2025
For the cover, the publishers asked me to feature the two main characters, Imogen and Olli,e in their pride getting ready, or a scene from the book where they just had pizza and are chatting on Imogen’s bed.
The characters needed to look like best friends and not romantic. So we scrapped the one on the bed, as they looked more like lovers.
I mainly tried to focus on composition and giving a playful teenage feel to the piece.
Finished product
Aside from drawing for myself, I also make book covers! This is one that I got to make for the book Something to be Proud Of by Anna Zoe Quirke. A YA about a neurodivergent, bisexual teen who starts an activist society at her school. She partners with the openly gay football captain to organise an accessible Pride festival and challenge injustices at their school. Resulting in a bright and colourful piece.
